Cookies and local storage are different
A cookie can accompany requests to a server. LocalStorage is browser storage that is not automatically attached to requests. Both can retain information, so this page describes the local preference as well as the absence of cookies set by the supplied site script.
This static publication’s code does not set cookies, install analytics or activate advertising trackers. It does not embed third-party players or remotely hosted scripts. Any infrastructure-level storage introduced by a hosting service or a separately managed consent service must be documented by that service; it is not silently described here as part of this script.
Storage inventory
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| bgp-consent | LocalStorage value “accept” or “essential,” saved only after a preference is selected. | Until cleared, removed by the browser or replaced by a new choice. |
| Contact draft | Held in the open page to construct the plain-text proof; not placed in persistent storage by the script. | Page session; browser restoration behavior may vary. |
What each choice means
Accept saves an acceptance preference. Essential Only saves a restrictive preference. In this version of the publication, neither choice loads optional tracking, because no optional analytics or advertising functionality is included. Reading the essays does not require a saved choice.
Your preference
Select a choice or remove the existing record. These controls affect only this site’s bgp-consent value in this browser; they do not control another website or a separately installed service.
JavaScript is needed to display and change the saved preference.
Other ways to manage storage
Your browser’s privacy or site-data settings can remove localStorage and cookies for this domain. Private-browsing modes may discard stored preferences when the session closes. Blocking storage does not prevent you from reading the publication; the controls will report if a choice cannot be saved.
Clipboard and downloaded files
Copying a contact message places text on your device’s clipboard at your request. Downloading saves a text file. Clearing the consent preference does not clear those copies. Manage them through your device, browser or file manager.
